myEweb
service uses Java technology to display web pages. Therefore you must
enable Java in order for the pages to function properly. Please follow
the instructions in the Enabling Java, JavaScript
and cookies section below to ensure that the settings of your
browser are correct.
If
your browser settings are correct and you are still having problems
viewing the chat window, you may need a newer version of the Java
Virtual Machine (VM) or you may need to install one for the first time.
The Virtual Machine is what you need to be able to see and interact with
Java. Please follow the instructions below to obtain a newer Java VM:
-
Netscape
Navigator - The Java VM is built into the browser, so if
you are having problems viewing the chat window and you are using an
older version of either Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape
Navigator, we recommend downloading a later version. Please read the
help section above entitled Browser requirements.
-
Microsoft
Internet Explorer - Please follow these instructions to
download a newer version of the Virtual Machine:
-
Go
to the Microsoft
Windows Update page.
-
You
may first have to click PRODUCT UPDATES on that
page depending on the setup of your PC.
-
If
you have an older version or no version of the Java VM installed
on your PC, you will see Microsoft Virtual Machine
listed. Check the box next to it.
-
Click
Download at the top of the page.
-
Follow
the on-screen instructions. Windows Update downloads and
installs the Microsoft Virtual Machine for you.
If
you are using Windows XP and you did not download the VM when you
installed Windows XP, you will not be able to open a window. You
will first be alerted that you need to download Microsoft Virtual
Machine for Java and the installer will pop up automatically.

Problems
loading web pages
|
|

The
cache is the location on your computer's hard disk where web pages and
files (such as graphics) are stored as you view them. This speeds up the
display of pages you frequently visit or have already seen, because your
browser can open them from your hard disk instead of from the web.
The
easy way to clear the old page is to hit your refresh button on your
browser while looking at the page you want to refresh, in most browser
this will automatically load the newer page.
If
you still having problem getting a page to load, it may be because your
cache still contains the old version of the page and is trying to load that
instead of the newer version. By clearing the cache you are forcing your
browser to go to the web and download a new copy of your page.
To
clear your disk cache, follow the instructions below for your preferred
